  Fear Busters Part 1

  • Identify within your body where the bad feeling is located.
  • There's a voice in the head that runs the feeling. Within the head, is it in the front, middle or back? (The feeling is usually in the body, but the one that runs the feeling is the voice in the mind. Different voices reside in different parts of the brain.)
  • Once you identify the voice, wrap it up in aluminum like a Hershey's kiss. (This changes the form of the voice. In NLP, even changing the volume affects the feeling. Even better is to wrap it up.)
  • Imagine setting the wrapped voice outside the body and place on a flat surface. (Found to be very effective to separate voice running the fear from the body.)
  • Ask the voice how old it is and go with the first thought that comes to mind, even if it sounds silly. (These voices that run the fears are mostly from an early age where they were imprinted into our brain. As youths, we tended to accept everything as true, so we were more emotional. If the voice is older, then it's from an adult influence from your earlier years.)
  • Simply say to the voice, "I don't need a voice that's younger (or older) running my life."
  • Send the wrapped up voice back to God (the Universe) for recycling. Jokingly, you can have Scottie beam it back up.
  • Go back and check if you can get the feelings of the fear back. If you can, then ask where's the next voice in your head that's running an associated feeling of the fear. Find it now and repeat the exercise. Continue with this until the feeling of fear is totally flat, creating no emotional charge any longer within your body.
